Lieana Sherry is a contemporary dancer based in Chicago, Illinois and Kansas City, Missouri. Sherry studied ballet the majority of her youth and began training in Graham and Horton technique in high school, and on through college. Sherry graduated from the Conservatory of Music and Dance at University of Missouri-Kansas City with a dual focus in Ballet and Modern. Her time at the UMKC Conservatory provided extensive training in ballet, jazz, and codified modern techniques under direction of DeeAnna Hiett, Gary Abbott, Anthony and Jill Krutzcamp, Kristopher Estes-Brown, Ronald Tice and Paula Webber. Along with training, Sherry has had the privilege of performing works from Paula Webber, DeeAnna Hiett, Gary Abbott, Kameron Saunders, Christopher Huggins, and Kevin Iega Jeff. She also had the honor of performing George Balanchine’s Concerto Barocco under the direction of Nilas Martins, made possible by UMKC Dance Association and the Balanchine Trust.
Since graduating Sherry has performed repertoire from Stephanie Martinez, Monique Haley, and Shannon Alvis with Cerqua Rivera Dance Theatre for their 2021 season. Sherry dances professionally with Tristian Griffin Dance Company and Wylliams-Henry Contemporary Dance Company.
