HIGH SCHOOL INTERN 2026

HIGH SCHOOL DANCERS AGES 16+

Dance in the Parks will hire one high school intern for our 2026 summer season. The internship aims to give high school-aged dancers with goals of joining the professional industry practical experience working in professional dance-making settings, leadership experiences, and other industry technical skills that add value in hiring decisions.

The artistic team's decision process is based on dancer work-ethic, drive to join the professional dance industry, talent, and family financial status.  Members of historically under-resourced communities are encouraged to apply. 

Eligibility Requirements

  • 16+ years old

  • At least 5 years of dance training

  • Goals of attending collegiate dance programs, professional training programs, or working in the professional dance industry after high school

  • Enrolled in high school for 2025-26 school year

  • Must be available to work the full rehearsal and performance season (after your school year is over)

  • REHEARSAL PERIOD: May 26-July 2, Mon-Thurs 9:30-3:00. 

  • PERFORMANCES: 11 weekday afternoons/evenings July 7-24

Intern role:

  • Participate in daily company class (ballet & contemporary)

  • Understudy professional roles in all performance pieces.

  • Assist with show set up at all performance venues (marley floor & sound system).  Run sound and assist with tech at performances.

  • Assist artistic team with youth performance partner tech rehearsal and organization at each park.

  • Work with artistic team to create audition resume

  • $15 hourly pay for rehearsals & performances (9 weeks)
