Dance in the Parks seeks a masc-presenting dancer with contemporary, modern, and jazz proficiency for our 2025 summer season. We are hiring one dancer who must be available to participate in the full rehearsal period and performance season.
REHEARSAL PERIOD: May 27-July 3, Mon-Thurs 9:30-3:00.
PERFORMANCES (dates are tentative): July, weekday evenings (possibly Saturday evenings), 11 performances in Chicago and Evanston.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
18+ years old
At least 2 years of professional performance experience
PAID POSITION: per show rate + rehearsal stipend

Dance in the Parks will hire one high school intern for our 2025 summer season. The internship aims to give high school-aged dancers with goals of joining the professional industry practical experience working with professionals in professional dance-making settings, teaching and leadership experiences, and other industry skills that add value in hiring decisions.
The artistic team's decision process is based on dancer talent, drive to join the professional dance industry, and family financial status. Members of historically under-resourced communities are encouraged to apply.
Eligibility Requirements
16+ years old
At least 5 years of dance training
Goals of attending collegiate dance programs, professional training programs, or working in the professional dance industry after high school
Enrolled in high school for 2024-25 school year
Must be available to work the full rehearsal and performance season (after your school year is over)
REHEARSAL PERIOD: May 27-July 3, Mon-Thurs 9:30-3:00.
PERFORMANCES (dates are tentative): July 7-26, 11 weekday evenings, possible Saturday evenings.
Intern role:
Participate in daily company class.
Understudy professional roles in all pieces.
Assist teach Youth Performance Partner classes
Assist with show set up at all performance venues (stage & sound system)
Intern role benefits:
$15 hourly pay for rehearsal, performances, and assistant teaching.
Tuition scholarship paid toward 2025-26 school year dance training (amount tbd)
9 weeks of experience working with Chicago dance professionals in the studio and in teaching and productions roles

Dance in the Parks seeks choreographic submissions for our 2025 performance season. Selected choreographers may create a new work or restage an existing one.
Choreographers must use Dance in the Parks' dancers. Casting will be determined in collaboration with the choreographer and artistic staff. The rehearsal process and time spent in the studio is brief. Choreographers have between 5-8 hours to set their work, after which DIP artistic staff rehearses the work leading up to performances.
Choreographers must have availability during the contracted setting/rehearsal period, but are not required to attend performances. Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
REHEARSAL PERIOD: May 27-June 26, 2025, Mon-Thurs 11:00-3:00.
PERFORMANCES (tentative): 11 performances in July. Dates and locations In Chicago and Evanston TBD
CHOREOGRAPHER FEE: Choreographers will be paid as a contractor in a single, flat fee.
