Choreographers must have daytime availability in June 2023 to set/reset work. The rehearsal process and time spent in the studio is brief; be prepared to work fast. Choreographers have between 5-8 hours with DIP dancers. After the initial setting days with the choreographer, DIP artistic staff rehearses each work leading up to the season performances in July 2023. Rehearsal and performance schedules will be confirmed in April 2023.
Choreographers may stage a new work or restage an existing one. Choreographers must use Dance in the Parks' dancers. Casting will be worked out between the choreographer and artistic staff. Final hiring decisions will be made by the end of March 2023.
Dance in the Parks seeks a high school intern for our 2023 summer season. The internship aims to introduce high school-aged dancers of color with goals of joining the professional industry to working professionals, professional dance-making settings, teaching and leadership experiences, and other industry skills that add value in hiring decisions.
We will only hire one intern. Our application process will help us narrow our focus down to the applicants with the highest drive to continue into the professional industry.
